The Wildland Preserve is a land use concept designed by Forestpark Lands to provide an alternative to industiral forestry management while enabling a new group of landowners to not only benefit from owning a tree farm but to also experience their surroundings beyond their ownership. Owning a part of a Wildland Preserve community provides access to trails, picnic areas, and waters that an owner may not otherwise have access to. Communities are planned with tree farm and wildlife management being cornerstones in the design process resulting in a community that allows owners to minimize their footprint while managing the remaining acreage in a manner aligning with community forest and wildlife management guidelines increasing the value of the overall community and the owner's experience.
Integrating forest and wildlife plans into the overall community design ensures a consistent approach to creating and managing an ongoing working forest that embraces wildlife as a priority. Community members begin from a solid foundation that is preserved by CCRs that protect these principles. Forest and wildlife managers are subject to audit and third party oversight to maintain forest certification status and, again, to preserve the overall community and its mission.
